Like our other painted Chinese cabinets these striking red and black lacquer cabinets are based on furniture from the Shanxi region of China. To the ancient Chinese the butterfly was a symbol of long life and beauty, and was often used to decorate all types of furniture. The gold and painted butterfly decoration against the classic red lacquer surface gives this cabinet a wonderfully rich appearance. It is deep enough to be used as a TV cabinet (we can also produce custom sizes) and comes with three removable shelves and two small drawers at the bottom. Gilded and hand painted. Please note that the painted designs can vary slightly. Part of our Classical Chinese furniture range, handcrafted from reclaimed elm wood and available in a choice of red, black or cream lacquer with hand painted decoration.
